Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a manual therapy focusing on the musculoskeletal system using chiropractic manipulative technique(cmt) or adjustments to the spine and other joints of the body. Adjustments are used to mobilize spinal segments and reduce joint restrictions. The positive benefits of adjustments include increased range of motion and mobility, decreased pain, and restoration of function to the body. During your chiropractic visit there are a variety of techniques and additional therapies the doctor can use to accommodate patient needs and comfort level.

Manual adjustments

Manual adjustments are delivered by hand using a quick and gentle thrust. These adjustments are often accompanied by a joint cavitation or audible ‘pop’ which is simply air being released from the joint. Your doctor will determine if you are a good candidate to receive manual adjustments based off your history and a thorough orthopedic and neurological exam.

Impulse IQ and Activator

If manual adjustments are not a good fit for you the doctor can use an equally effective and especially gentle technique using an adjusting instrument. These tools deliver a specific force into the joint to create an adjustment – just like that of a manual adjustment although there is no immediate ‘pop’. These tools may be best suited for patients such as children, older adults and others who are apprehensive about manual adjustments.

Low Level Laser Therapy

Our Erchonia EVRL laser is a non-invasive, fast and effective modality that has been proven in clinical trials to reduce pain, reduce edema, and promote healing. The laser uses light energy to stimulate your body’s healing potential at a cellular level resulting in reduced inflammation, increased cell function and blood flow.

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization

Also known as muscle scraping, this myofascial technique is used to release muscle tension and fascial adhesions in the connective tissue. Your doctor may use this on a variety of conditions to improve circulation, decrease muscle pain, and promote healing in the area.

Kinesio Taping

You may think KT taping is only for your favorite olympian or elite athlete, however; the application of KT tape can be used on a variety of common conditions in all patients. Your doctor may suggest the application of KT tape to decreasing swelling and bruising when healing from a sprain/strain injury or provide added support to muscles and joints during daily activities. Belly Taping is specially used to support the added biomechanical load on the body during the unique time of pregnancy and may be helpful in alleviating low back and round ligament pain during the 2nd and 3rd trimester.
