Massage

Integrated Massage

Integrated Massage is a relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains and decreased stress levels. Our massage therapist is certified in neuromuscular therapy.
By utilizing a variety of techniques, the treatment aims to prevent injury, reduce swelling in the body, increase flexibility, and promote the body’s natural immune function.

Assisted Stretching

Old injuries, repetitive actions, intense exercise regimens and aging can lead to tight muscles, restricted soft tissue, and tension. Assisted Stretching is a great option if your goals are better posture, reduced muscle and joint pain, improved flexibility, and quicker recovery.  Static and dynamic stretches are both utilized throughout the session to maximize results.

*Please wear loose, comfortable clothing for the Assisted Stretch service.

Deep Tissue

Deep tissue massage uses more pressure. It’s a good option if you have chronic muscle problems, such as soreness, injury, or imbalance. It can help relieve tight muscles, chronic muscle pain, and anxiety.

During a deep tissue massage, your massage therapist will use slow strokes and deep finger pressure to relieve tension from the deepest layers of your muscles and connective tissues.  Trigger Point Therapy would also be utilized during this type of massage, which involves putting stronger and deeper pressure on different points of the body as needed.  Trigger points are defined as “a focus of hyperirritability in a tissue that, when compressed, is locally tender and, if sufficiently hypersensitive, gives rise to referred pain and tenderness.”  In other words: a trigger point is believed to be a localized spasm or knot in the muscle fiber that may cause pain to be referred to other, more distant parts of the body.

Prenatal Massage

Prenatal Massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women. Pregnancy is a time when a woman’s body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical changes. Using various techniques and positioning specially developed for the expecting mother, Pregnancy Massage helps release the pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, and improved breathing and relaxation.

Hot Stone Massage

`Hot Stone Massage

Hot stone massage is best for people who have muscle pain and tension or who simply want to relax. This type of therapeutic massage is similar to a Swedish massage, only the massage therapist uses heated stones in lieu of or in addition to their hands. It eases muscle tension, improves blood flow, and relieves pain by using heated stones.  During a hot stone massage, heated stones are placed on different areas around your whole body. Your therapist may hold a stone as they massage different parts of your body using Swedish massage techniques using gentle pressure. Sometimes cold stones are also used.

Reflexology

Reflexologists apply differing amounts of pressure to specific points on the feet and hands. These areas have a correspondence to different areas of the body. This type of body work involves the nerve endings in these areas. It helps to bring the nervous system and the entire body back into balance. Regular reflexology sessions can help with detox, relieving stress, improve circulation and improve energy flow.
