Reiki Therapy

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese energy healing technique for the mind and body. The word Reiki is made up of two Japanese words joined together. “Rei” means higher wisdom, and “Ki” means life force energy. It is based on the principle that a practitioner channels energy into the patient through either energetic connection or touch. This helps to stimulate the body’s natural healing process to improve both emotional and physical health, promote relaxation, and help to reduce stress.

Life force energy moves through us and gives us life. If a person’s life force energy has been weakened by injury, emotional trauma, or is low for some other reason, it can make a person more susceptible to illness, or feel increased effects of stress and fatigue. If this energy is high, patients are more likely to feel energized and be happier and healthier in their lives. During a treatment a person might feel a glowing, supporting energy moving through and around them, creating a sense of peace and tranquility. Reiki is a safe method of healing that is available to everyone, no matter their spiritual belief system. It has been shown to be effective in helping many health conditions.

Dr. Karen has taken the course work necessary to be at the level of Reiki Master, which means she has gone through all of the attunements and training for this level.

A session lasts 25 or 50 minutes. It works really well for people who have grief, pain that does not respond to anything else, or anxiety. It improves mood, relieves stress, balances the chakras and improves a sense of physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.

Generations Acupuncture provides Reiki as either a stand alone service or as an add in to other treatment strategies.  Reiki can be combined with acupuncture. It has been found, in many cases, to increase the impact of a treatment. Reiki also brings the treatment into all levels to address a condition mentally, emotionally, and physically.
